Vatanix is looking for a Network Engineer to join our team in Chennai, India. The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's or client’s network infrastructure.

This includes configuring network hardware, monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring secure and reliable network connectivity across LAN, WAN, and internet systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows/Linux
• Perform routine server maintenance, monitor system performance, and ensure system availability.
• Troubleshoot server-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, etc
• Handle VMware/Hyper-V-based virtualization environments.
• Ensure proper backup and disaster recovery strategies are in place.
• Monitor security updates and patches and apply them as needed.
• Maintain documentation related to server setup, configurations, incidents, and solutions.
• Coordinate with vendors/OEMs for hardware and software-related issues.
• Support server migrations, upgrades, and hardware refresh projects.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (RHEL/ CentOS/ Ubuntu).
• Experience in VMware ESXi, vCenter, or Hyper-V virtualization.
• Expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy Management, DNS, and DHCP.
• Familiarity with RAID, storage systems (SAN/NAS), and server monitoring tools.
• Experience in scripting (PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
• Knowledge of networking basics (TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs).
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices in a server environment.
